It was such a joy to photograph this pre-wedding portrait session at Sarakiniko Beach, on the breathtaking island of Milos. There is something truly special about this place, raw, minimal, almost surreal, that allows every emotion to stand out in the most honest and effortless way.
For them, this session was not just about photographs. It was about slowing down, being present, and celebrating this in-between moment—just before everything changes, just before they step into a new chapter together.
A pre-wedding session in Sarakiniko, Milos
Sarakiniko feels unlike anywhere else in Greece. The white volcanic rocks, shaped by wind and sea over time, create a landscape that feels almost lunar, a quiet and otherworldly setting that has become one of the most photographed locations in the Aegean.
We chose to begin early in the evening, ending up at the sunset in Klima. The softness of the white rocks created a natural glow, reflecting beautifully on their skin and bringing out the subtle tones of the landscape. There was no rush, no distractions, just the sound of the sea and the feeling that, for a little while, the entire place belonged only to them.
They walked barefoot, laughed, embraced, and let the moment unfold naturally. That’s always the goal, to create space for real connection, where nothing feels forced and everything feels like them.
What I love most about sessions like this is how effortlessly they combine intimacy with adventure. Sarakiniko offers both: a wild, sculptural backdrop and at the same time a sense of calm that invites you to simply be. The contrast between the bright white rocks and the deep blue of the Aegean creates a timeless canvas, minimal, yet incredibly powerful.
As the light grew stronger, so did their energy. From quiet, tender moments to playful movement along the curves of the rocks, everything flowed organically. It’s in these transitions that the story truly comes alive.
This is what a pre-wedding session in Greece can feel like, free, emotional, and deeply connected to the landscape.
